After three months in recess, rugby action returns to the fold with the annual Buffaloes Sevens tournament.

The tournament, which has been running for the last three years, will curtain raise this year’s Rugby season due to start next month. Seven teams are expected to take part in the one-day tournament.

These include; Gorillas, lion de fer, Puma, Sharks, Kaduha Tigers, Buffaloes and a Buffaloes’ string side.

The tournament set for February 21 will be staged at Red Cross rugby grounds in Kacyiru.

According to Gerald Nsenga, an integral member of Remera Buffaloes, the top three teams in the tournament will walk away with trophies.

"The winners will lift the Main Cup, the second team takes the Plate Cup while the third team walks away with the Shield,” he said.
A cash incentive also awaits the M.V.P (most valuable player).

"We need to motivate the players taking part in this tournament’, admitted Nsenga, although he did not specify the exact amount.
