APR forward Lague Byiringiro has been ruled out for up to four weeks following the hamstring injury he sustained during his side’s 2-0 victory over Sunrise last week.

Byiringiro was carried off the pitch, and replaced by new signing Danny Usengimana, shortly after scoring APR’s second goal in the 70th minute.

‘’He has a torn hamstring, unfortunately,’’ APR head coach Zlatko Krmpotić said.

"It will be four weeks. It is a big blow for us.”

The army side have   options in the striking department however, with Ernest Sugira, Danny Usengimana, Innocent Nshuti and Issa Bigirimana all fit to fill in, but Byiringiro’s form has been impressive of late and his absence will be felt as the defending champions battle to stay top.

APR lead the Azam Rwanda Premier League table 54 points, six ahead of Rayon Sports, while Mukura (45) and SC Kiyovu (38) are third and fourth, in that order.

Strugglers Kirehe and Amagaju, with 17 and 15 points respectively, are second-last and bottom of the 16-team log.
