Zouk continues to dominate Kigali Jazz Junction 2019 editions as French duo Slai and Medhy Custos headlined the monthly event’s past two editions, both bringing the zouk version to the corporate audience.

Slai’s performance in February left the audience needing more zouk music on stage and organisers made a quick response by inviting Medhy Custos.

The singer, who has established himself as one of the best zouk musicians in France, on Friday had an unforgettable experience with the audience in the house within an hour of live performance at Kigali Conference and Exhibition.

‘A Jamais’, ‘Elles Demandent’ and ‘Tant Pis’ came top of French singer’s playlist which had revelers dancing along.

With the event themed a ‘Women’s Edition’, as a dedication to celebrate the International Women’s Day which falls on March 8, Teta proved to be a fitting headline for the show as she and Saxophonist Stella Tush represented women on stage to make the show even more colourful.

Teta, who returned in Rwanda from Malmo, Sweden where she currently stays, had to wait for three years to seal a reunion with her audience in Rwanda after she was contacted to perform at Kigali Jazz Junction.

With the help of Neptunez Band, the singer made sure she delivers a performance that her audience has been missing, and that was an opportunity for her to perform many of the songs from her first album ‘Iwanyu’ which she recently released a day after her homecoming.

 Velo and Kata were among fan’s favorites during her performance, as she mixed with some songs from the deceased Kamariza, an artiste she calls as her role model.

Artistes like Masamba Intore, Jules Sentore and Cecile Kayirebwa were in attendance to support her as well.
