Resilience rugby club skipper Donatien Ufitimfura has fired warning to Muhanga Thunders that his side will be eyeing to maintain their perfect start when the two sides face-off in the national rugby league.
The Resilience travel to Muhanga District for a much-awaited encounter against in-form Muhanga Thunders on Sunday, starting at 1pm.
Speaking to Saturday Sport on Friday, Ufitimfura said they are having a ‘fantastic start’ this season, and they will fire at all cylinders against Muhanga as they bid to make it three victories in as many games.
The Rusizi-based team top the Southern Division table with 10 points, one ahead of second-placed Muhanga.
Prop Moise Ndimurwango attributes this team’s performance to the vast experience of senior players such as winger Patrick Byiringiro and full-back Frank Miruho who have blended well with young players.
Ufitimfura, who also serves as player-coach says, that since finishing second last year, the club has recruited new – and young – players from neighbouring schools; GS Nyakarenzo, ES Bugarama and ES Gishoma as well as the Teacher Training College Mururu.
Some of the players shined during the 2018 national inter-school championship and the regional FEASSSA Games in Musanze District last August.
