In a significant move to enhance healthcare accessibility and save lives, Irembo, a leading digital platform that provides a wide range of services, on May 4 announced its partnership with Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) to launch a blood donation initiative.
The primary goal of the partnership, as noted, is to help save lives by streamlining the blood donation process, making it more accessible and convenient for donors and recipients.
"The blood donation drive will enable individuals to contribute to Rwanda's healthcare system without financial barriers, ultimately saving lives and improving healthcare outcomes nationwide,” reads part of an Irembo statement which added that RBC plays a vital role in Rwanda's healthcare system, overseeing blood donation collection, testing, and distribution.
Leveraging its expertise and resources, it is noted, RBC ensures the safety and quality of all donated blood through rigorous testing and the use of advanced technology, adhering to strict standards and protocols.
RBC's partnership with Irembo allows it to reach a wider audience and inspire voluntary blood donations.
The statement adds: "This collaboration is crucial in ensuring a steady supply of safe blood for medical emergencies. This initiative has the potential to significantly increase blood supplies in Rwanda by promoting voluntary blood donations and streamlining the donation process.
