Champions Kigali Sharks will be keen on avoiding a second nightmare in as many games this season when they face Thousand Hills in the National Rugby League on Saturday.

The two sides square up at Red Cross grounds, starting at 1pm.

The Sharks, who outclassed all the other opponents to lift the title last season, are rooted fifth on the table with one point after losing their season opener 14-10 to Lion de Fer last Saturday.

In an interview with Saturday Sport on Friday, Kigali Sharks skipper Barnabas Ngizwenayo said: "We quickly put that setback behind us, and turned our focus to the 1000 Hills game. We (players) are all fit and look forward to giving our best for victory.”

On the other hand, the Thousand Hills who picked free points without dropping a sweat after Remera Buffaloes failed to show up for their  first match last weekend, also seek to take it up from where they left off last month when they beat Lion de Fer to win the preseason tournament.

In other games on Saturday, last season’s finalists Resilience take on University of Rwanda’s Grizzlies while Muhanga Thunders will be up against Kamonyi Puma.

Table leaders Resilience hammered lowly Kamonyi Puma 57-2 last weekend in Rusizi District, in the two teams’ first game in the 2019 league season.
