Gorilla FC head coach Ivan Minnaert has made assurance that his side will not be relegated from the Primus National League.

Gorilla lost 2-0 to champions APR at Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday, May 3, and they now have to win their final game of the season which will be against Mukura Victory Sports to ensure that they avoid relegation.

"We have one more game to play and I can assure Gorilla fans that we will not be relegated. It is a home game and we will fight to the end for the three points," Minnaert told the press in a post-match interview.

Minnaert rued the chances that his team missed against APR as they failed to convert a penalty and six glaring chances.

"We squandered a penalty and we missed six good goal scoring chances. APR got two chances and they scored. They beat us 2-0, if you miss chances, you would be punished and that’s what happened to us," he said.

"We have a problem with scoring. If we had been clinical, we would have won the game. We were the better side on the day but APR scored two and that is what matters in football."

Gorilla are 13th on the league table with 32 points after 29 games. They host Mukura VS in their final league game on Saturday, May 11.
