Atraco and APR will be hoping for good starts when the national league second round gets underway this afternoon.

The champions and current league table leaders Atraco take on second from bottom La Jeunesse at Mumena stadium while APR travel south to take on Amagaju in Nyamagabe.

Third placed Rayon Sport visit Police in fourth position at Nyamirambo stadium.

Sam Timbe’s Atraco go into today’s game top of the table, level on 24 points with APR but with a better goal difference.

Atraco hammered Jeunesse 6-1 in the corresponding fixture at Shorongyi but they face a La Jeunesse side whose fortunes seem to have changed a bit since that beating.

Inevitably, Timbe will use this game to test his side ahead of the Caf Champions League return leg against EL Merreikh due in Kigali next weekend.

The taxi-men lost 2-1 in the first leg. Record nine-time league winners, APR visit Amagaju seeking to wrap up a double over the league debutants.

The military side is still fresh from their 5-0 drubbing of Kenya’s Gor Mahia in the Caf Confederation Cup tie last weekend.

Rene Feller’s side won the corresponding tie 3-1 but today’s clash won’t be an easy on considering the host’s good home record.
