If you looked around the continent today, you would not find an artiste enjoying massive airplay perhaps as Nigerian superstar Burna Boy.
For some years now, fans of the singer, real name Damini Ogulu, have waited for him to perform in Kigali like his peers Wizkid, Davido, Yemi Alade, or Patoranking but to no avail.
However, the wait is over as the "On the Low” star is set to perform in Kigali on March 23.
The hitmaker confirmed the concert dubbed, "Burna Boy Xperience”, which will take place at Intare Conference Arena in Rusororo, through his Instagram, sharing just the date and venue.
The timing cannot be better. The Kigali show will come at the time when the star is enjoying massive popularity thanks to his hits "On the Low” and "Gbona” which are big club bangers at the moment.
As if that is not enough, the announcement comes at a time when the Nigeria Afro-fussion star has just collaborated with Tanzanian Superstars Diamond and Harmonize on a new song called "Kainama”. You can be sure that by the time he arrives in Kigali it will be a major hit too.
According to Dereck Kyaruhinda, one of the directors of Entertainment Factory Ltd, the concert is anticipated to be the best given the artiste’s current popularity on the continent.
Entertainment Factory Ltd is a brand new company in Rwanda, with ties to companies in the region, such as Malembe Lifestyle, Easy Tickets and Kasana Events.
Kyaruhinda told The New Times that details of the ticket prices will be revealed early next week.
"We encourage people to follow our social media handles for all updates regarding Burna Boy’s concert in Kigali on Twitter and Instagram,” he added.
The 27-year old Port Harcourt native, broke onto the music scenes in 2012 with his hit song "Like to Party” which was part of his successful album L.I.F.E which was released in 2013. The album also had his biggest song "Ye”.
The award-winning star, who studied media and communications in the UK, is currently enjoying huge success and is expected alongside Mr Eazi to perform at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, cementing his popularity.
The "Rock Your Body” star is expected to perform in Kigali after his show in Kampala on March 22.
