Rwanda 41-81 Senegal
Rwanda will be looking to bounce back against hosts Ivory Coast on Saturday night, starting at 10pm in Abidjan, following Friday’s humiliating 81-41 defeat to Senegal in the sixth and final window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Senegal, five-time African champions, dominated the game from the off point, taking all the four quarters; 26-14, 17-8, 23-9 and 15-10, respectively.
The victory automatically confirmed the "Lions of Teranga" as the fourth African team to qualify for the first ever 32-nation FIBA World Basketball Cup after Tunisia, Angola and Nigeria.
It will be Senegal's fifth World Cup appearance.
Africa's final ticket for the China 2019 showpiece, slated for August 31 – September 15, will be determined over the next few days or hours with Cote d'Ivoire, Central African Republic and Cameroon chasing the best-third placed team from either Groups E or Group F.
During the clash against Senegal, Dieudonne Ndizeye led Rwanda with 7 points.
After ten matches in the qualifiers, Vladimir Bosnjak’s Rwandan side has a 3:7 win ratio.
