Editor,
It is good news that the World Bank (WB) has suggested new strategies to help African countries sail through the global financial crisis.
However, whether in Rwanda or any other African country, these strategies would only work provided we, (the natives of the continent) act too. In this case I mean that we should have a true spirit of patriotism just like true pan Africans.
It would make no sense for WB to use all its available resources to ensure that less developed countries (LDCs) operate within their budget, while the African leaders on the other hand misuse whatever has been provided.
Africans should endeavour to work positively with WB by doing away corruption and embezzlement of finds so that we manage the available resources successfully. The global crisis is real, let us work together to ensure it does not affect our economies.
