Miss Rwanda 2012 Aurore Mutesi Kayibanda and golfer Jacques Gatera will wed in Kigali this year, the beauty queen has announced.

This comes months after the two were legally hitched in a colorful ceremony that took place in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 22.

According to a post by Kayibanda on Instagram, the celebrity couple will tie the knot on August 15, in Kigali, Rwanda, and the official invitation to the ceremony will be released soon.

A trusted source close to the couple told The New Times that Kayibanda and Gatera will have both traditional (Gusaba) and church weddings in Kigali.

Jacques Gatera is a businessman and golfer who has won various trophies from across the continent and beyond.

The couple's love affair went viral on January, 19, 2023, after pictures of their engagement started circulating on social media.

During her reign as Miss Rwanda, Kayibanda was also crowned Miss Fespam – a pan African beauty pageant – in Congo Brazzaville and represented the country at the 2013 Miss Supranational in Belarus.
