Rayon Sports have axed their Kenyan international striker Oscar Kadenge and agreed terms with a trio of defenders.

The 2006/07 Primus league first runners-up released the striker they signed one season ago from Uganda’s giants SC Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The Kenyan stint at the club was far promising as he only managed to score five goals in the 15 league fixtures. But the speedy striker is reported to have returned to his former club, Villa.

With the arrival of Jean Lomami and the hit-man Bogota Labama mid this year, Kadenge spent most of the entire league second round on the bench.

Rayon’s legal advisor, Claver Zitony confirmed to Times Sport over the weekend that Kadenge is among several players the club has released.

"I am not aware that SC Villa is signing him back. What I know is that, he’s among the players who are to be axed from the club,” Zitony said.

Following rival’s example
It is reported that the four-time league champions have followed their rivals APR and Atraco by releasing up to 13 senior players, most of whom were in the first team last season, however, Zitony despite confirming the reports, couldn’t disclose the identity of those players.

However, sources from the blues’ camp have lined the following players among those likely to face the axe from the club.

They include, striker cum goalkeeper Jean Claude Bigirimana (Drogba), midfielders Kalisa Mao, Yves Twagemahoro, Jackson Magezi and Yossam Mike and Philip Gasana.

Defensive reinforcement
In a related development, the club has agreed terms with a trio of defenders including Shaka Okello, Bonaventure Hakizimana and Janvier Kado.

Both Okello and Hakizimana were released by their former employers APR and Atraco respectively while Kado is returning to the club for a second spell after one season with Burundi’s Vital’O.

Haruna, Migi latest arrivals at APR
Haruna Niyonzima and Jean Baptista Mugiraneza (Migi) are the latest players to agree terms to join reigning league champions APR Fc.

The two midfielders agreed two-year deals last week soon after they had returned from a two week training tour of Germany with the U-18 team.

Niyonzima was a revelation since joining Rayon from Etincelles two years ago while Migi has been literary the same for Kiyovu.

The pair will join other players who have also agreed terms with the military side who including Eric Serugaba from Etincelles, AS Kigali trio of Elias Uzamukunda, Eric Yirirwahandi and Hegyman Ngoma as well midfielder Djabil Mutarambirwa from Kiyovu.
