Rwanda has showcased its unique attractions at the Matka Nordic Travel Fair 2019, the largest Travel and Tourism Fair, organized in Helsinki, Finland.

Amb. Christine Nkulikiyinka, Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Nordic countries, on Saturday told The New Times that she was happy to see many people visiting the Rwanda stand and interested to learn more about the tourism attractions and situation in the country in general.

Nkulikiyinka added: "This Travel and Tourism Fair is very impactful because only very few visitors know about Rwanda; things such as safety and so much more, as well as its tourist attractions. We are also promoting Rwandan coffee at the same time.”

The annual event’s organisers indicate that this year, more than 73,500 industry and academia leaders and professionals across the world have come together in Helsinki, Finland for Matka 2019.

Visitors to the Rwandan stand, the envoy noted were interested in many things including Rwanda’s wildlife, cycling and hiking, and climate.

"Rwanda has all that Nordic visitors need: safety, good climate, nature, activities like hiking, cycling and others,” she said.

The five-day event ends today.
