Three-time winner Ghana returns back to Accra to immediately start preparing for the Fifa World Youth Championship set for September 25-October 16 in Cairo, Egypt.

The Black Satellites coach Sellas Tetteh said that after winning the African Youth Championship in Kigali, attention now shifts to the World Youth Championship.

"We have a very strong squad which displayed good football in this tournament, and it’s the same squad which I intend to keep for the world event,” Tetteh said, adding that he has plans to take his team for a series of build-up matches in Africa and Europe as part of their preparation for the WYC.

Ghana won the Africa Youth Championship on Sunday after beating giants Cameroon 2-0 in the final in Kigali.

The win is a massive boost for the new Ghana president John Evans Atta Mills who had given a massive backing to the team to ensure a good start to his presidency.

The former football administrator had increased the team’s bonuses to boost them and they paid off with impressive performances since the start of the tournament.

Ghana beat Mali, Rwanda and South Africa after drawing 1-1 in the opening game with Cameroon.

Tetteh’s major assignment now is to build a stronger team for the World Youth Championship in Egypt in September and he will be boosted by the return from injury of midfielder Rabiu Mohammed and Real Madrid defender Daniel Opare.
