AS Kigali Vs Scandinavia 15:30

For the first time women’s teams will participate in the National Heroes Day football tournament, which will run from January 26 to February 1 at Amahoro Stadium.

AS Kigali head coach Shaban Mbarushimana has said that they want to win the tourney to boost confidence ahead of the 2019 season.

Ten-time reigning champions AS Kigali will face rivals and last season’s first runners-up Scandinavia WFC for the title and Rwf750,000 in cash prize.

Mbarushimana says that all his players are available and ready for the game.

"We have been training for weeks now and we are confident of victory,” Mbarushimana told Sunday Sport.

"This is a good opportunity for my ladies to step up preparations for the new season. Facing an opponent like Scandinavia will add strength and motivation to my team,” he added.

Giants AS Kigali have won two of their last three meetings against Scandinavia.
