Gakondo singer Ibrahim Cyusa and music troupe Inganzo Ngari are gearing up for ‘Migabo Live concert’ that will take place on June 8, at Kigali Cultural and Exhibition Center.
The concert is Cyusa’s celebration of his three careers as a traditional dancer, banker and singer.
The concert was named after his song ‘Migabo’ which he dedicated to Rwanda's president to show his gratitude for the good leadership.
Speaking to The New Times, Cyusa said that the concert will be one of a kind and that it will showcase the richness of Rwanda's culture through music and dance.
Having been part of the Inganzo Ngari dance troupe from 2010 to 2015, the singer said it only felt right to include them in the show as they have been part of his journey.
"Whoever is planning to attend the concert should expect a full Gakondo performance that is on another level. The whole team that will be on the stage are all Gakondo stars and that will give the crowd a chance to see how rich our music is,” he said.
For the attendees, he said they will get a chance to listen to songs on his upcoming album that will be releasd after the concert.
Tickets are now on sale for Rwf 10,000 regular, Rwf 20,000 VIP, Rwf 35,000 single table and Rwf 250,000 for 8 people.
The concert follows some of Cyusa's successful shows around the world, including his recently concluded show in Newcastle on February 24.
Throughout his five-year music career, Cyusa has produced and remixed many traditional songs such as 'Imparamba,' 'Rwanda Nkunda,' 'Migabo' and many others, making him one of the most popular traditional music artistes in Rwanda.
Cyusa rose to fame through his 'Friday Live' sets at Grand Legacy Hotel, dubbed 'Cyusa Ninkera', which attracted a large number of music lovers in the city, before embarking on a solo music career in 2019.
