James Musoni yesterday presented letters of credence to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in Harare, officially becoming Rwanda’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe.

Musoni, a former cabinet minister who was in October last year named the country’s first envoy to the Southern African nation, was accompanied by his spouse, and Michel Makuza, the First Counsellor.

According to a statement from Rwanda’s Embassy in Zimbwabwe, during their discussions, Mnangagwa appreciated the visit of President Paul Kagame during the former’s inauguration ceremony.

The President also appreciated the fact that Rwandair is flying to Harare, as well as Rwanda’s decision to open a resident embassy in Harare, which he said will strengthen further the existing cordial bilateral relationship between the two countries.

On his part, the statement said, Amb. Musoni conveyed the message of friendship from President Kagame to his counterpart Mnangagwa and the desire to strengthen and develop further the existing friendly relations.
