Police                1-3    Bugesera

AFTER seeing his side edge Amagaju FC 2-0 on match day 12 of the Azam Rwanda Premier League on Sunday at Kigali Stadium, Nyamirambo, Rayon Sports coach Roberto Oliveira has urged his players to maintain their consistency if they want to be real title contenders.

Forwards Christophe Bukuru and Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana netted the all-important goals in the 8th and 48th minutes respectively to hand ‘Blues’ a third spot, jointly sharing 10 points with Mukura Victory Sports who are second with 22 points with three games in hand against APR, Sunrise and Amagaju.

"We have to give our best in every match because we missed to win some matches in the last fixtures but we have to be ready, and winning will give us more confidence and a chance of closing the gap with top teams. I am happy to win but we missed many chances to score,” Brazilian coach said.

"It is unfortunate that we have not scored more goals but I am happy with the result. To score more goals brings confidence but we will continue to work hard because we need to get back to our top level” he added.

AS Kigali have won seven games, lost four and drawn one in their last twelve fixtures.  Amagaju head coach Jean Paul Muhoza said "We need to be more focused, determined and also believe that we have the ability to beat any team in the league. We have to turn things around.”

Amagaju are bottom of the table with 5 points, having won only one and drew two games and lost eight in six rounds.

Meanwhile, Police lost the chance to close the gap on APR after losing 3-1 at home against Bugesera Steven Nzigamasabo, Samson Ikecukwe and Djihad Rucogoza netted for visitors in the 21st, 67 and 69th minutes respectively while the consolation goal for Joel Albert Mphande’s team was netted by Osee Iyabivuze in the 55th minute.

Police dropped to fourth place with 20 points while Bugesera jumped to the ninth position with 16 points.
