I can not fail to share a sermon that I heard last week that truly moved me entitled “Remember”. The word ‘remember’ apparently carries heavy meaning and the act of remembering can deliver one from discouragement and despair even when passing through a trying time.

Everybody at one point or another faces challenges some of which seem too thick to break through but the Human being has proved resilient in that he can pass through harrowing events time and time again without losing sanity or sense of existence as feared.
Actually God endowed us with inborn shock absorbers to counter excessive physical and mental strain bearing in mind the tough environment we are exposed to.
According to the sermon, remembering a past experience can determine how you persevere or come through a challenge. When faced with challenges, one may find it very useful to reflect on a previous situation when they were not sure of survival but still made it.
Human beings are superstitious and believe in a higher power controlling things, if not destiny. Therefore those who believe in God will be closest to Him at the most trying times. For sure God can be trusted to do his part if called upon and in most cases prayer has proved a sure solution.
Most tragedy survivors will admit that it is God who saw them through the predicament. But when trouble strikes again-and it is inevitable if we are still alive-we chicken out like we have never suffered before thereby denying God’s power.
If we would remember how God carried us through previous problems worse than the current ones, we would not fret in the face of danger, but we would take the bull by the horn and employ all God-given survival tactics to overcome the situation.
The bible ensures us that God will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13: 5-6). In fact he will see us through the trial (1Corinthians 10:13) and even reward us (James 1:12).
We can also rest assured that we will never perish as long as we have received Jesus Christ in our lives because he guarantees Eternal life (John 3:16).
Therefore trials are not there to finish us off but to strengthen us and reinforce our faith in God.
