Music is one of the greatest creations of man. It is a very powerful tool in our lives. Life without melodies and harmonies would be totally empty. The images that music and song are able to create are amazing. Music has the ability to take us back in time, just like a time machine. It lets us revisit lost and forgotten moments in life. Songs can paint a picture. Music can be explained according to one’s feelings towards it, but in general, music can be explained as an arrangement of sounds in patterns to be sang or played using  instruments. There are different kinds of music, like people say, "music never grows old”.

Nowadays music has become a necessity, because we see people walking around with earphones, listening to music as they move. This shows that music really matters in life. Music touches the soul and also helps people express their unspoken desires and beliefs. Early in the morning, birds wake people up with their sweet tunes.

Love for music is not a tendency of human beings only. It is a common characteristic of nearly all living creatures. The moment musical notes softly enter our ears; they stir something. There is evidence that even animals respond to melodious tunes of an instrument. Cows would respond to the sound of Krishna’s flute. Krishna is major deity in Hinduism.

Music has unlimited powers, this is a well-established fact.  It has soothing and healing power. Music helps us to relax.  Music can relax tense muscles. Melodies have the capacity to help the mental or physical state of a person.

Music has therapeutic effects. Doctors sometimes recommend soft music to their patients because there will be revival of hope and happiness in the mind of the sick person. "One thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain,” said Bob Marley.

Music brings people together and uplifts them emotionally. For that reason, music can easily be used as an instrument of peace.
