The first edition of the Volkswagen Golf tournament will be held in January, and will be the opening competition for the 2019 domestic season.

The multi-category tourney will be held at the 9-hole Kigali Golf Club in January. Specific dates are yet to be determined.

According to Kigali Golf Club captain, Davis Kashaka, 2019 will be a busy year for local golfers and the season will begin with the VW competition, which will be followed by regular competitions at the state-of-the-art facility, in Nyarutarama, till December.The 2018 season was concluded by PKT Golf tournament a fortnight ago, and was won by Chris Dews and Alice Rwigema in men and women’s categories, respectively.

Times Sport understands that the inaugural VW golf tourney will only feature amateur golfers.
