Rwandan model dies in Arizona

Family, friends and Rwanda’s fashion enthusiasts are mourning the passing of US-based Rwandan model Jeanine Neema Ngerero who breathed her last on Monday, October 3, at the age of 25.

She died in Arizona, United States, where she lived.

Neema’s brother, Kenny Ngerero, told The New Times that her sister was found dead inside her car at her other brother’s house.

The vehicle was inside the garage and turned on with the garage door closed.

"When paramedics arrived on scene, there was a high level of carbon monoxide inside the garage and the house,” Ken Ngerero said in an interview.

"It is believed that she fell asleep inside her car and carbon monoxide caused her to lose consciousness. As of this time, there are no signs of foul play and no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death,” he added.

Her death is a huge loss to the Rwandan fashion industry as the young model had a promising talent in modeling on the international fashion scene, having headlined big fashion events like Milan fashion event and New York fashion week.

Danny Nanone acquitted

On September 20, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) arrested rapper Danny Nanone over an alleged intentional assault of a woman aged 30 years old with whom they reportedly have a child.

The first time the rapper was arrested over an attempt to assault the same woman was in 2016 but court released him because there was no potential evidence that he offended the woman.

The same happened last week when the court decided to acquit him because there were no grounds of evidence that prove his guilt while the witnesses also appeared in court to defend him against the charges he was arrested for.

The pair’s relationship has been having ups and downs since 2016, when they were involved in tensions that also resulted in the arrest of the rapper.

Ndimbati back in the game

‘Papa Sava’ without actor Ndimbati has not been the same ever since he was arrested about five months ago.

Movie director Gratien Niyitegeka knew it was not possible to replace him although he kept pushing to keep the series alive for their audience.

People in the comment section were already complaining that they were missing the actor just a few days after his arrest.

They pleaded that they wanted to see him back in Papa Sava after they learned that he was acquitted a week ago. However, the actor needed some days to reflect and a little break from his jail nightmare.

He is now back in action and ready to deliver his comic acting scenes.

Rwandan model to rock Kanye West fashion collections

Anipha Umufite is increasingly becoming a go-to top model that different clothing agencies are queuing to work with, with Kanye West the latest to have her doing commercials for his latest collection 'Yeezy Gap.'

The top model secured a lucrative deal where her photos in the American musician's collection published in the upcoming edition of London-based popular fashion and culture magazine "Re-edition Magazine".

The collection will also feature photos of British top model Naomi Campbell.

Featuring in the magazine is the top model's latest achievement as she continues to make a name for herself in the international fashion scene having hit the runways at big fashion event like Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion week while she also features on the Vogue Magazine.
