Barry Ndengeyingoma a.k.a Ndengeye is a very prominent businessman in Kigali. The 41-year-old is an accomplished businessman, who joined Rwanda’s business industry at the tender age of 18.

He owns several nightclubs, fitness clubs and beauty centres in Europe. Ndengeye also own outlets of art collections, designer shops and gift shops around Europe.

What is your favourite word?

OK! I sometimes use it where it’s not even necessary.

The craziest thing you have ever done in life?

Destroying curtains at home, and sometimes my mother’s clothes and making my own designs out of the different pieces. However, I must confess that the "Naughty” habit helped me to develop my career as a fashion designer.

What is your favourite game?

Soccer! But don’t ask me of any football club.

Do you like cooking, what would you enjoy to cook?

Very much! I enjoy preparing soup.

What would you like to wear on your romantic evening?

Any unique attire. My favourite ones are Robert Cavalli’s designs.

The worst job you have ever done?

None. I was brought up from a wealthy family. 

What is your greatest achievement?

Being a confident and successful businessman.

What keeps your awake at night?

There are very many things. It might be about my businesses in general, or something else.

The most important lesson learnt in life as businessman?

Paying attention to my businesses and ignoring people’s criticism.

Where do you see Ndengeyingoma in five years’ time?

The happiest man ever… (lol!)

What has been your greatest disappointment in life?

Sometime back, I was summoned by a northern region Gacaca court over false allegations. A malicious person accused me of something I never did. Thank God I survived the evil incident. 

If you were given a chance to edit your past, what would you remove, or add?

I would stop trusting people…no matter what! A human being is naturally a mean animal.

Aside from your property, what’s the most expensive thing you bought recently?

A mansion situated beneath the water in Dubai.
