MUKURA Victory Sports players go into their second-leg clash against South Africa’s Free State Stars with belief and determination regardless of what their rivals throw at them at Huye Stadium on Wednesday.

The winner will progress – from the preliminary round – to the first round of Africa’s second biggest club competition – the Total CAF Confederation Cup.

Coach Francis Haringingo has tipped his players to accomplish the mission at home following the away goalless draw with the South African side last Wednesday.

"We have had good preparations in the last few days since returning from South Africa and any player who will take part in the game knows the task at hand – everyone is strong-willed and is keen on making history,” Haringingo told Times Sport on Tuesday.

The Burundian tactician further added, "I believe in my squad, and can absolutely get the desired result on home soil. The mood in the team is great, and each player is determined to advance to the next round. The game is a must-win.”

Mukura secured the ticket to represent the country in the continental competition in August after beating Rayon Sports to win this year’s Peace Cup.

The Huye-based side are playing continental football for the first time since 2001.

Free State Stars arrived in the country on Tuesday morning aboard a RwandAir flight and were due to have a light training session later in the day at Huye Stadium.

It was reported that Free State Stars will face Mukura without some of their key players who have been rested ahead of the club’s upcoming South Africa Premier League clash against leaders Orlando Pirates on December 11.
