APR depart this afternoon to Nairobi ahead of their Caf Confederations Cup preliminary round first leg tie against Kenya’s Gor Mahia due on Sunday.

The 24-man APR squad departs at 3pm, aboard Rwandair Express, two days before their scheduled fixture against Kenyan champions.

The record nine-time national league champions APR heads to Kenya with a solid squad with only the injured midfielder Jean Mugiraneza missing.

The winner between APR and Gor Mahia will face Egyptian side Haras El Hodoud who got a bye into the first round.

Meanwhile, Champions league representative Atraco left for Khartoum, Sudan yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s clash in the preliminary round first leg against El Merreikh.

Last year’s national league title holders Atraco are making their debut in the Champions League.

The taxi-men club must be prepared to face a tough challenge against an El Merreikh side that beat Rayon Sport 3-0 in the Confederation Cup last year.
