Rwanda is set to miss this year’s All African Junior Golf Challenge, Times Sport has learnt. According to the Kigali Golf Club captain Marcel Byusa, the country can not raise a formidable side for the challenge.

"Right now, we don’t have the team to compete in this competition but we hope to do so in the near future,” he said.

The competition is set for March 31-April 5 at Nairobi’s Diani Leisure Lodge.

Already, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Mauritius, Tanzania and Kenya have confirmed participation but the organizers expect the number to rise as registration continues. It is also said that Tanzania have already stepped up training as they gear up for the 72-hole tournament.

According to Tanzania’s national golf team coach Charles Farrar, the junior team comprising of Salim Ally, Amani Said, Christopher Andrew and Victor Joseph is in good shape.
South Africa are the defending champions.
