APR Fc have summoned Rwanda’s U-20 quartet for the Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg tie against Kenya’s Gor Mahia scheduled for February 1 at Nyayo stadium, Nairobi.
The quartet as named in the 18-man squad which jets out tomorrow by head coach Rene Feller includes, Haruna Niyonzima, Jean Baptista Mugiraneza, Arafat Serugendo and Elias Uzamukunda.
The foursome was outstanding in Rwanda’s short-lived campaign for the African Youth Championship title being held on home soil.
Jean Claude Iranzi, Hegman Ngoma, Eric Serugaba and Ernest Kwizera have been left out of the traveling party.
The winner between APR and Gor Mahia will face Egyptian side Haras El Hodoud who got a bye into the first round.
Gor Mahia is the only Kenyan club to have won the defunct Cup Winners Cup in 1987.
Their last appearance on the continental scene came in 1996 when they were knocked out in the first round.
