Gasogi United midfielder Akbar Muderi has said that he and his teams have a common dream of winning the 2023/24 Peace Cup.
The Burundian scored the lone goal that helped Gasogi beat Police FC 1-0 in the Peace Cup semifinal first leg held at Kigali Pele Stadium on Tuesday, April 16 to set one foot in the final.

Speaking to the press, Muderi said that he is hungry to win trophies with Gasogi United and the Peace Cup remain his target this season.
"I am absolutely delighted to score a goal which helped us to win the first leg away against Police FC, and I am hungry to do a lot more in the return leg. I will give my best with my teammates to win this game and we are looking forward to even winning this trophy," he said.
"We are capable of beating Police twice and winning the final but it will require us to be in good shape of mind and exhibit much determination against them.”

Eliminating Police FC will see Gasogi United reach their first Peace Cup final since the club was promoted from second division in 2019.
Meanwhile, Police FC’s first leg defeat was a big blow under pressure head coach Vincent Mashami who has a difficult task to overturn the result in the return leg to stand a chance of making it to the final and keep the club’s Peace Cup dream alive, having last won it back in 2015.
The second leg will take place on April 23 at Kigali Pele Stadium.
