Nakumatt shopping centre yesterday concluded its Jumbo Reward Programme a competition run over the just concluded festive season by rewarding 79 vouchers worth hundreds of francs to the best winners.

The ceremony which took place at Union Trade Centre (UTC) in down-town Kigali was the second one after the first one which took place early last month (December).

The top prize winner was Chaila Nadine who won a refrigerator worth Rwf 428,695 while other winners were Fabrice Nyongere and Alex Birahino who won a six-seat sofa set and a cooker respectively.

According to Joseph Ndungu the Nakumatt Country Manager, the programme is aimed at giving back some of what the customers have contributed to the business ever since the Kenya-based retail supermarket opened in Kigali.

He added that business is all about investing more,: "we are investing more in our customers although there is a fear in some other businesses, it’s a new programme but it will work.”

Ndungu promised that Nakumatt would be embarking on similar promotions depending on specific seasons, citing Valentine’s Day, Easter Holidays, and other festive occasions.

He also revealed that the store is planning to come up with a system where customers will start purchasing merchandise through their bank accounts.

Other prizes won at the raffle included a television set, a Vaccum cleaner, a water dispenser and electronics.
