Delegates start to trickle in for eighth FIFA Council Meeting

Delegates have started to arrive in the country for the eighth FIFA Council Meeting due October 25-26 at Radisson Blu Hotel and Convention Centre.

The meeting will be chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who’s expected to jet in tomorrow Wednesday.

"We are honoured to host the next FIFA Council Meeting. We will do everything possible to help make it a success,” Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) Spokesperson Bonnie Mugabe told Times Sport.

Delegates started arriving on Monday, he said.

The two-day meeting attracts over 100 delegates from different confederations across the world and will, among others, discuss issues pertaining to the development of the sport, as well as the future of international football competitions.

Mugabe added: "We are excited to host the meeting in Kigali.”

The FIFA Council consists of 37 members: the President, eight Vice-Presidents, and 28 other members.
