As part of its continued mission to ensure fast internet availability for all Rwandans, KT Rwanda Networks has introduced new packages that will enable every Rwandan to access fast internet.

KT Rwanda Networks is the country’s sole distributer of 4G LTE internet.

Through new affordable packages that will give customers an option of acquiring fast internet for as low as Rwf 800, 4GLTE client will on top of fast internet, have more affordable options depending on their preferred consumption.

Speaking to Business Times on Monday, Desire Ngabonziza, the Chief Strategist of KT Rwanda Networks, noted that the new packages are part of the ever evolving services provided by the company with an aim of ensuring all Rwandan citizens have access to faster internet.

"The strategy in place is to work on the growth of 4G user’s service availability as well as product affordability to all data users in Rwanda by considering the low income earning population,” Ngabonziza said.

The all-inclusive new packages will also enable 4GLTE customers have the option of paying for the services through mobile money platforms across all networks and through smart phones and feature phones.

"Through the Mobile Application LTE RWA, users can now easily purchase bundles using MOMO or Credit/Debit Cards. Customers using feature phones will use the USSD code *900# that will give them easy access to our great internet packages” added Desire.

He added that KT Rwanda Network continues to accelerate the data market growth by deploying world-class last mile technologies across the country and going forward with the nationwide coverage.

"With coverage of over 96 per cent of the population, the focus is now on ensuring fast internet access to all Rwanda” said Desire

The Government of Rwanda took a bold decision to invest in advanced wireless technology including a national fiber optic backbone 4G Networks which has enabled the rollout of 4G to all corners of the country.

Consequently, Rwanda has become the most connected country in the region if not beyond; not just with any connectivity but with the latest commercially launched high speed Mobile Broadband Network, the 4G LTE.

In June 2013, the Government of Rwanda and KT got into a Public Private Partnership to install and activate a wide-ranging high-speed broadband network and also lead the extension of the nation’s online services capability, which are essential to achieve Rwanda`s goals in the ICT sector.
