AS Kigali Vs Musanze
Azam Rwanda Premier League side Musanze FC have named the club’s 27-player squad ahead for the upcoming 2018/2019 season, which gets underway on October 19.
Musanze will start their campaign against AS Kigali at Kigali Stadium on October 20.
The squad that was released on Friday, includes eight new signings and former Rwanda international Bokota ‘Kamana’ Labama who renewed his contract by one year.
The new signings are; central defender, Jean Paul Kayigamba, right-back Regis Mbonyingabo, forward Cedric Mugenzi and playmaker Ismael Gikamba – all from Etincelles.
Others are; midfielder Jean Dushimumugenzi from Espoir, forwards Laurent Iradukunda from AS Muhanga and Emile Mbarushimana from Kirehe as well as strikers Donald Rene from Cameroon and Ugandan Mohamed Mede.
With the new look Musanze FC, newly appointed head Coach Emmanuel Ruremesha believes his side is capable of challenging for top positions in the national league.
"We have signed these players in quest to boost the strength of the club so we can challenge for top positions next season. Our target is to finish in top four,” the former Rayon Sports coach told Sunday Sport on Saturday.
Musanze appointed Ruremesha in August, crossing from league archrivals Etincelles.
In the 2017-18 league season, which concluded in June, Ruremesha inspired Etincelles to a fourth position finish, the highest position the Rubavu-based club has registered since 2012 when they finished in second place.

Others include; Patrick Kikunda Musobwa, Aime Desire, Claude Gabiro, Ramadhan Niyonkuru, Japhet Imurora Hakizimana, Jean Paul Niyonzima, Donald Rene, Mohamed Mede, Alpe Majyambere, Francois Mugisha and Mussa Uwamungu.
