The national volleyball league for 2018/2019 season will kick off on November 10, Times Sport has learnt.
The date was agreed upon in a meeting of Rwanda volleyball federation’s technocrats held last Friday at Amahoro Stadium.
The men’s topflight league will kick off on November 10 while their women counterparts will begin in January next year. The start dates for both championships are due to be approved during the local volleyball governing body’s general assembly on Sunday.
The plan is for the league to conclude in May while Kayumba Memorial Tournament will be staged in February, Genocide Memorial Tournament and Carre d’As in June, Rutsindura Memorial tourney in July, and Beach Volleyball in August.
Gisagara (men) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (women) are the reigning champions and will represent the country in the 2019 Africa Club Championships.
