Kenyan Premier League sides AFC Leopards and Tusker in race to sign Rwanda international and AS Kigali defender Soter Kayumba.
The 25-year old was instrumental in AS Kigali’s league campaign last season where they finished second with 61 points, five adrift of champions APR.
However, it will be hard for the 2013 Peace Cup winners to keep their skipper for next season as the former Etincelles center-back is reportedly being courted by a number of Kenyan sides, including giants and 13-time champions AFC Leopards. Others are; Tusker and Sofapaka.
Should the central defense sensation move to Kenya, he will become the third Rwandan player in Kenya Premier League football after talisman Jacques Tuyisenge who plies his trade with regional heavyweights Gor Mahia, since February 2016, and Justin Mico who joined former champions in June this year.
Speaking to Times Sport on Monday, Kayumba confirmed that there are ongoing talks with different Kenyan teams, and noted that he was still balancing the offers on his table before he decides which side to associate himself with.
