RAYON Sports have completed the signing of their former midfielder Fabrice Mugheni Kakule from archrivals Kiyovu SC, on a two-year deal.

The DR Congo-born midfielder returned to the Blues after spending last season with Kiyovu where he helped the green and white outfit to a fifth place finish in the 2017-19 Azam Rwanda Premier League.

Mugheni’s controversial move to The Blues comes just two months after his failed transfer to Tanzania giants Simba SC. It is reported that he still had a contract with Kiyovu and the latter refused to free him for the lucrative move.

The former Kiyovu skipper had his first training session with Rayon Sports teammates on Friday afternoon at the club’s training base at Munzove in Nyarugenge District.

According to Rayon Sports vice president, Fred Muhirwa, Mugheni was signed on a temporary basis until Kiyovu SC agrees to give him a release letter he has requested.
