PAM searching in vain for Faysal’s photo

News from the PAM Awards office in Kampala says the organizing committee is still trying to trace Faysal’s picture, a renowned Rwandan musician.

According to our scouts, Faysal nominated for best Rwandan male artiste is said to be on some "Kyeyo” in South Africa. The picture is supposed to be used for PAM Awards publicity.

A Good Samaritan should inform Faysal to scan his picture and send it to PAM Awards Offices!

Burundi’s first son flips over a Rwandan chic

Olivier Buyoya (the son to the former Burundian President, Pierre Buyoya) is said to be dating a Rwandan chic, one Miriam.

According to a source, the couple met for the first time during last year’s PAM Awards, launched at Serena Hotel.

However, observers are wondering whether the pair will develop their intimate and probably walk down the aisle. Watch this space for updates.

Green Records to visit Rwanda

Word has it that the England media based Company, GREEN RECORDS, will be visiting Rwanda this month. The major reason for this visit will be to award the best journalists in the country.

According to our snoops, Green records last year (2006), was broad cast on BBC awarding Senegal’s best journalists, and each walked away with a cheque worth $5000. So, good for journalists out there…Oops! Gotta try my luck as well!!!!

Vocalist in critical health condition

Rwanda’s renowned Minani Rwema, who is best known for his song "SUR LA TERRE”, is said to be in critical health problems, and currently admitted at Kigali Health Center (CHUK).

According to our scouts, doctors at the hospital diagnosed that the celeb with a liver problem. Rwema has been admitted at CHUK, since last month. New Times scouts wish him a recover quickly!

Chameleon to rock Ugandans in Kigali

The Hip hop and ragga Ugandan musician, Joseph Mayanja, a.k.a Jose Chameleone, will be disembarking in the "Land of Thousand Hills” on 9th October, on a special invitation by the Ugandan Ambassador to Rwanda.

News reaching our snoops says that, the King of Hip hop will be coming to perform during the celebrations of the Uganda’s Independence Day.

The celebrations arranged to be held at His Excellency, the Ambassador’s residence in Nyarutarama, Gasabo District are expected to attract many dignitaries, including Ugandans residing in Rwanda.

Early this year, the Embassy celebrated Uganda Night, and hosted Juliana Kanyomozi, who is best known for her song, Nkuweeki? Sometime, the celebrations were held at Serena Hotel.  Uganda and South African Embassies never cease to have festivities, keep the fire burning.

SA to participate in 2008’s FESPAD

In a bid to promote the culture of music in East and Central Africa, South Africa is joining FESPAD festival. South Africa is renowned as the Land of vocalists and therefore its participation will be promoting talent.

According to Reggy Panster, a reggae artist and also a member of the Rastafarian clan in South Africa, almost all S. African artists are so passionate to hoist music in all parts of Africa. The festival is slated for next year and will be hosted in Rwanda like before.
