According to head coach Sellas Tetteh, the defensive midfielder has been summoned to boost the team’s quest for the African Youth Championship title as well as qualify for the Fifa Youth Championship set for Egypt in September.
Tetteh said, "We have called him to see if he could add some steel to our midfield. I will assess him and if he’s fit enough to start against Rwanda.”
Mensah, 18-year old who features for South Africa Premier club Free State was expected to join the Black Satellites camp yesterday at Milles Collines hotel.
Ghana face Rwanda in the last Group A match set for tomorrow. Both countries are tied on four points and will be battling for the semi-final ticket as well as a slot to the World Youth Championship.
