Régis Rugemanshuro, the Chief Executive Officer of BK TecHouse has been recognised as the Innovator of the Year in East Africa at this year’s regional All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA).

Rugemanshuro is among the top business leaders and individuals that exemplified excellence and outstanding leadership in their industry and community in the East African region.

According to the organisers, winners are leaders that epitomise the core values of a successful leader, strength, innovation, ingenuity, knowledge and foresight which are values that are imperative to carving out powerful business in a Pan-African and global economy.

The award automatically gives him a chance to compete at the grand finale that will have regional winners compete at the continental level, which is slated for November 27 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This year’s awards are the eighth edition and the East African awards ceremony took place in Nairobi.

Last year, the ceremony place in Rwanda and saw companies like Bank of Kigali top the list of winners.

The awards are organised by ABN Group, the holding company for CNBC Africa.
