The players include; Henry Sittou Ndoumbia (Diable Noir, Congo Brazzaville), Landry Djimbi (Diable Noir, Congo Brazzaville) and Primael Maissa (Tele Stars, Gabon).
Speaking to Times Sport yesterday, APR team manager Capt. Eric Ntazinda confirmed the news of the new signings whom he said have already joined their new team mates in training.
"We brought the players for trials. If they impress the coach then they will be signed as APR players,” said Ntazinda.
However, Ntazinda could not confirm whether the trio would feature for the military side’s Confederation Cup preliminary round tie away to Kenya’s Gor Mahia on the weekend of January 30-February 2.
Rene Feller’s team started preparations last week as they seek to put themselves in the best possible shape ahead of the meeting with the Kenyan opposition.
Unfortunately, if Rwanda’s U-20 side qualifies for the semifinals of the ongoing African Youth Championship in Kigali, Feller could be without several key players for the first leg match in Nairobi.
Midfielders Haruna Noyinzima, Jean Mugiraneza, Jean Claude Iranzi, Hegman Ngoma, defender Arafat Serugendo and strikers Elias Uzamukunda and Ernest Kwizera are all with the junior wasps.
Gor Mahia are the only Kenyan club to win an African continental title. The Kenyans won the defunct Cup Winners Cup in 1987.
Their last appearance on the continental scene came in 1996 when they were knocked out in the first round.
The winner between APR and Gor Mahia will face Egyptian side Haras El Hodoud who got a bye into the first round.
In 2004 under Coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira, the military side reached the third round of the more lucrative Caf Champions League and a year later they were knocked out at second round stage.
