LUC Eymael, the head coach of South African side Free State Stars, has urged his goalkeeper Olivier Kwizera to grow up after making a horrible blunder against Ivory Coast during the AFCON qualifiers Group H clash at Kigali Stadium on Sunday.
The Rwanda international was the main highlight of the game for his howler in gifting Aston Villa forward Jonathan Adjo Kodjia, who turned a ball into an empty net to put Ivory Coast ahead just seconds before the half-time whistle.
"I have watched the highlights, I am really sorry for the guys. It is sad that Olivier (Kwizera) did two big blunders in two consecutive games in a row. Before the Amavubi game, he had just done a similar petty mistake, which cost us a win. He is still young but he has to learn faster, otherwise it will kill his game,” the former Rayon Sports coach said.
Kwizera’s mistake in the dying seconds saw Free State Stars play out a 2-all draw with rivals Cape Town City on August 29.
The former APR goalie, Kwizera, 23, joined South Africa’s top-tier side Free State Stars last September after spending one season with Azam Rwanda Premier League side Bugesera FC.
