After an ill-fated album launch concert in Kigali last weekend, Rwandan-German singer Shavu still has more plans in store for her Rwandan fans.

Shavu launched her debut album, ‘In Our Art’, at Gusto Italiano Bar and Restaurant in Kimihurura last Friday, although the event did not go so well.

Based in Cologne, Germany, where she is signed to Loyal Records, a music label, the album launch concert was her first musical performance in Rwanda.

However, the event was marred by tight noise pollution regulations that saw the singer cut her performance short.

Now the singer is back with three different concerts to entertain her Rwandan fans before she jets back to Germany. All shows will feature her fellow musician and label mate Wu, and Loy, their producer and owner of Loyal Records.

The first show takes place today, Friday September 7, at the Nyarutarama based K-Club Lifestyle. Dubbed the ‘Jamming Lion Night’, the reggae-themed night will feature DJ mixes from resident DJ, Gomez, and guest DJ, Wild Lion Sound from Germany.

Entrance to the show is Rwf3, 000.

A week later, on Friday September 14, Shavu will perform at the Blues Soul Afro Diaspora Sounds at the White Horse (opposite Ecole Belge). The theme for the show is ‘Blues Soul Afro Diaspora Sounds’.

The night will also feature other acts like Nganji Arnaud and Selektah K’Ru (Rwanda), DJ Huily Huile (Canada), and DJ Coco Em from Kenya.

The following day, Shavu and her crew will hold their final performance at The Junction Lounge and Restaurant in Remera in a show dubbed ‘Dancehall Night’.

"Even after a concert gone bad, we knew that our fans deserve the best and we took the show to the club for those that like to party hard. After K-Club and The Junction, we will have a mega club show at The Junction Lounge in Gisementi,” said Alexis Mbishibish, the promoter of the shows.
