Compassion International hails Rwanda’s transformation progress

Compassion International, a world-wide body which seeks to elevate the well being of vulnerable children has commended Rwanda’s current leadership for its tireless efforts to rebuild the country after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis.

Compassion International, a world-wide body which seeks to elevate the well being of vulnerable children has commended Rwanda’s current leadership for its tireless efforts to rebuild the country after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis.

The Christian charity organization that supports about one million children world-wide, commended Rwanda’s leaders during an annual meeting in Kigali.

More than 60,000 vulnerable children are beneficiaries of the organisation.

Tony Neeves, the Vice-President in charge of international development at Compassion International said the current development in the country is an indication a committed leadership.

"The reconciliation, unity and rebuilding taking place here gives hope that people who had once been eaten up by hatred have now completely changed and transformed,” observed Neeves.

He observed that this gives hope to the future amidst escalating challenges hardly fifteen years after holocaust.

Phoebe Graves, an official from the Africa Regional Office whose headquarters are in Kigali said that Rwanda acted exemplary in developmental work which is why they chose to hold their  meeting in Kigali.
