Rabiu, Gohi win Samsung awards

Nigeria’s Ibrahim Rabiu and Ivory Coast striker Cyriac Gohi bagged Samsung Man of the Match accolades in yesterday’s group B matches played.

Rabiu unlike Gohi inspired the Flying Eaglets to their first 2-0 win over Egypt in the championship while Gohi was an outstanding player despite his team’s loss 1-0 loss to South Africa.

Both players were awarded Samsung phones for their role in their respective teams’ start to the continental youth championship.

The Caf media official Nicholas Musonye awarded the accolades to the players for their most outstanding performances to their teams and the accolade will be given to the most impressive player in every game played during the two-weeks long championship.

Rabiu ousted the Egyptians with his brilliant dribbles which also kept them out of play in the thriller which left fans delighted.

Samsung is the official sponsor of the 16th African Youth Championship which started Sunday and will run until February 1.
