Rayon Sports duo Ange Mutsinzi (defender) and midfielder Djabel Manishimwe are on the brink of sealing a move to Kosovo first division sides Klubi Futbollistik and Llapi, respectively.
The two are reported to be in advanced talks with the Kosovo teams, and will be traveling to finalize the discussions and sign contracts after Rayon Sports’ Caf Confederation Cup Group ‘D’ match against Tanzania’s Young Africans on Wednesday next week, at Kigali Stadium.
The vastly talented central defender Mutsinzi joined the Blues from AS Muhanga in 2016 while Manishimwe was signed from Isonga three years ago.
"The talks are still going on, quite smoothly. After the game against Young Africans next week, I will travel to Kosovo for final talks, have my medical and sign the contract. I am waiting for my visa and other travel documents,” Mutsinzi told Sunday Sport yesterday.
He further added that, "Landing a professional contract in Europe is a dream-come-true, something I have always wanted. I may struggle to adapt in the first few days or weeks, but I know I will do all that is possible to blend in quickly and contribute to the club’s success.”
Manishimwe also told this publication that he has finished talks with his soon-to-be new side Llapi and won’t be undergoing any trials before putting pen to paper next month.
"I will always be grateful to Rayon, I have enjoyed every bit of my football with the club for the past three years. The move to Kosovo is a good for my career.” Manishimwe said.
Meanwhile, the midfielder will also be traveling after the August 29 clash against Tanzanian giants Young Africans in the two sides’ last Group D game, in CAF Confederation Cup.
Barring a draw between USM Alger and Gor Mahia on August 29 in another Group D fixture, victory for Rayon Sports will guarantee the Blues a spot in the quarter-finals of Africa’s second biggest club tournament, which would be a first for any Rwandan side.
After five match rounds, Rayon Sports are third with 6 points, two adrift of USM Alger and Gor Mahia who jointly top the table, with 8 points each. Young Africans are bottom of the group with four points.
