Today we shall talk about the right to education. Every child who has reached the school- going age has the right to study.

Children over three years of age have the right to start school. In fact, nursery schools admit them immediately their parents register them.

Children should remind their parents as soon as they start talking to find them a school. At the age of 3, a child is able to understand what a teacher says.

Children are also in position to imitate what the teacher says. This is through reciting rhymes, poems and singing songs.

This helps their minds to develop and as they interact with other children in the classroom they can make new friends and discover new ideas about things in life.

However, there are some children taken to day care centres before the age of 3. It’s against the law to deny children their right to get an education.

This should be respected and since primary education is free in Rwanda, all children have a right to study.

Education is the key to success and is the future for children.
