A top official in the local boxing governing body, Raba has criticized former international Ferdinand Rutikanga for contributing nothing to the development of the sport in the country.

Raba Secretary General has noted with great concern that the former fighter, one of the pioneers in the country, continues not to appreciate the work being done by the federation yet he doesn’t come up with any reasons to back his intentions.

Rutikanga must, according to Eugene Ndashyikirwa, have to contribute to the development of the sport because he has nothing to show off as his contribution since he retired from active boxing more than twenty years ago.

Ndashyikirwa made the remarks in retaliation to the continued grumbles the veteran former boxer has come up with about the federation and the role he might have played in the promotion of the boxing in Rwanda.

"We have given him the opportunity to exclusive free entrance to all local competitions and a place in the main pavilion, but he doesn’t seem to appreciate all that,” the SG noted.

Adding that Rutikanga has every right to stand for any post during the Raba elections but he should come up with clear development plans and stop interfering in the federation’s affairs.

The veteran former Rwandan international complains that he has been marginalized in the development of boxing by the federation authorities, but does not specify how.

He claims that the federation had a big role in making sure his club, Rafiki Boxing Club, which he started in 1995 failed.

But Raba official have advised him to undergo fresh training course about the new changes in the sport before he can proceed to be a coach.
