The national U-20 handball team will be looking for victory when they take on Madagascar this afternoon as they seek to book a ticket to Saturday’s semi-finals in the ongoing Africa Challenge Trophy tournament in Kigali.

The biennial continental showpiece got underway on Wednesday and will run through Sunday at Amahoro National Stadium. Rwanda is hosting the tournament for the first time.

Anaclet Bagirishya’s home side seek to bounce back after losing 33-31 to Senegal in their first group game on Wednesday.

In the six-team competition, Rwanda in Group B alongside Senegal and Madagascar. The best two teams will progress into the last four.

Going into today’s last group match, both Rwanda and Madagascar are aware that defeat means early exit from the competition after both sides lost to in-form Senegal, on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Elsewhere today, Nigeria will be up against Cameroon in Group A – starting at 2pm.
