Rwanda’s Minister of Sports and Culture Joseph Habineza has urged all Rwandans to be involved in the successful hosting  of the African Youth Championship which starts today at Amahoro stadium.

Habineza said this during a press conference held on Friday at Ferwafa headquarters that the ‘once in life opportunity’ event should be of great importance to the nation.

"Rwandans should come in big numbers to watch this competition. People should not only come when Rwanda is playing but also during other matches,” noted the Minister, who also heads the tournament Steering Committee.

Habineza also commended the work done ahead of the championship, "So far so good, everything is ready and the team is in good shape.”

"The hosting infrastructures are up to a professional level which only benefits our nation and the next generations,” reasoned the Minister.

The Local Organizing Committee believes that the tournament will also help to uplift the quality of life of the Rwandan who will be able to use the infrastructures in place which are similar to those of the other developing African countries.
