Azam Rwanda Premier League side AS Kigali have completed the signing of Elias Maguri from Oman’s Dhofar SC on a two-year deal.
The development was confirmed to Saturday Sport on Friday by AS Kigali team manager Joseph Nshimiye.
"It is important to strengthen our team in preparation for a tough campaign next season. Elias (Maguri) is a good player and we believe he will help us achieve our target in the upcoming season,” Nshimiye told Saturday Sport yesterday.
In a separate interview, the 27-year-old said that, "I will give my best for the team. I believe we will achieve a lot together despite the fact that I don’t know much about the Rwandan league.”
Maguri has 18 caps for Taifa Stars of Tanzania on his name, scoring six times for his national team. Previously, Maguri played for Ruvu Shooting, Simba SC before joining Dhofar SC in Oman.
In the just concluded 2017-18 season, AS Kigali finished in second place with 61 points in Azam Rwamda Premier League, five points behind champions APR.
